Fundamentally Transforming Our Country

E-Newsletter No. 131           November 2024

On November 5th, We-the-People have an opportunity to fundamentally transform our country back to its original founding principles.  Unfortunately, we have witnessed what happens when elitists / “progressives” use the power of the federal government to try to change the nature of our country.  Leftists have been on a never-ending quest to have our citizens accept socialist philosophies.

Socialism has never been successful in any country where it has been tried.  “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy” – Winston Churchill.  “The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money”- Margaret Thatcher.

America is fine, and it can be made great again.  What has become broken is the federal government, and this has had a devastating effect on our country’s citizens.  Our founders established a Constitutional Republic with very limited enumerated powers and with a Bill of Rights (and freedom and liberty) that shall not be infringed.  As we discussed last month, Leftists despise our Constitution because of those limitations.  Unfortunately, we have witnessed decades of “progressive” policies that have undermined our Constitution.  Several recent surveys show that a large majority of our citizens feel the country is not heading in the right direction.  It’s time for us to exit that bad path and implement Term Limits, re-establish fiscal responsibility, and shrink the size and scope of the federal government.

Many of our country’s citizens have become disgusted by the amount of money spent on elections.  However, political advertisements are important, because they represent free speech and help point out the differences between the candidates / political parties.  However, the best way to reduce the amount of money spent on elections is to make the elections less important in our lives.  Unfortunately, “progressive” policies have fostered a growing dependency on the government to solve a person’s issues, whether it be to pay off their student loan, or buy a house, or give someone a Universal Basic Income with money that was earned by someone else.  That is what Socialism is all about.  Civil society groups that come together voluntarily (not coercively via taxes) to help someone in need are a much better solution.  And then there is that fundamental founding principle that conservatives embrace – the concept of Personal Responsibility.
